CONCEPT SHOOT
Using Primark’s New Lounge wear I created a series called ‘My Bloomin’ Child’. The concept is based on how the youthful thinking unlocks creativity and curiosity. The series is a homage to our younger self, a way to escape our adulthood duties.
Overview
‘My Bloomin’ Child’ is a series for adults to escape their stress from their everyday life. The photo series is to activate nostalgic memories from our childhood. Giving us a time to reminisce and pause. The older we become the more we revert back to behaviours we use to experience. The youthful thinking unlocks our creative thinking and curiousity. Creating work our younger self would be proud to see.
Location
We decided to shoot in a field. Most specifically Chingford Plains, a place where a lot of school events take place.
Clothing / styling
Using Primark’s lounge wear we wanted to create a sense of unity - a uniform. Primark for a lot of us was a place for essentials.
Props
To encourage the playful nostalgic thinking we brought in classic British school games. Only tailored for those who went to a British school. Creating a niche view to their part of the series.
Main Portraits
Illustrated by myself I wanted to create a homage to our younger self there was 4 main portraits with a layer of a stencilled spray paint of each model’s baby self interacting with their now self.
